Doug Stratton has been involved in showing and breeding dogs for 30 yrs. He started in Shelties along with his older brother Robert. Together they bred and exhibited Shelties under Robert's Kennel name Windmist. They had many Group and Specialty winning Shelties over the years.

Doug has now been breeding and Exhibiting Poms for the past 20 yrs. Doug campaigned his first show bitch Am. Can. Ch. Chriscendo Classica (Cassie) to the #1 Pom in Canada for 1991 & 1992 winning many Best In Shows on her. Then "Cassie" was Specialed by her breeders Chris and John Heartz of Chriscendo Pomeranians and was again Top Pom for 1994 and 1995 - Cassie still holds the record today as the Top All-time Winning Pom Bitch in Breed History.

Cassie and her son "Gable" Am. Can. Ch. Chriscendo Classico are the foundation of the Sunterra line, and have become influential in several other lines as well. Taking after his father, a Gable Son "Dylan" (Can Ch. Peppipoms Classically Yours ROM) produced many beautiful kids for Sunterra, Windmist and Chriscendo. Gable and Dylan are the sires and grandsires of many top producing dogs and bitches to this day.

We breed only 1 or 2 litters per year, and have achieved much success with very limited breeding and dogs! Most Notably Winning Best Opposite Sex with "Cassie" at the American Pom National Specialty in New York in 1993 and 1994.

Doug also has done very well at the American Pom National Specialty with Am. Ch. Sunterra Supermodel in 2001 - Winning Reserve Winners Bitch with a Record entry that year. Also Doug took top honors with Am. Can. Ind. Thai. Ph. Ch. Sunterra Sweet Seduction at a Specialty Cluster Along with the American Pom Summer National in 1996. Doug strives for Poms that excel in Soundness and movement, but without losing the Stylish Typey Dogs with "The Look" that is Extra Special.
